The programme combines essential theoretical knowledge with supervised practical preparation and focuses on safe childcare practice, child development, daily care routines, hygiene, nutrition, communication, emotional support, observation, and professional conduct. The training is structured to provide clear, verifiable learning outcomes and practical competencies suitable for private childcare, home-based care, family support settings, and other non-clinical childcare environments.

    Learning outcomes

    Apply safety, safeguarding, hygiene, sanitation, and infection prevention requirements in childcare environments in accordance with professional procedures.

    Organise and maintain a safe, hygienic, and age-appropriate care environment for infants and children.

    Provide daily childcare support, including supervision, feeding support, hygiene care, rest routines, and assistance with routine activities.

    Observe children's condition, behaviour, wellbeing, and developmental indicators and record observations accurately.

    Recognise routine care difficulties, hazards, warning signs, and situations requiring referral or escalation.

    Use childcare equipment, hygiene supplies, feeding materials, sleep items, toys, and developmental resources correctly and safely.

    Support children's emotional wellbeing, communication, play, and developmental activity through respectful and responsive care practice.

    Communicate professionally with parents, caregivers, and supervisors while respecting confidentiality, professional boundaries, and interests of the child.

    Maintain routine childcare records, observation notes, and basic care documentation in accordance with workplace requirements.

    Apply basic first-response measures within the limits of professional competence in routine incidents and basic emergency situations involving infants and children.
